The Attorney General of the Republic, Carlos Escarrá, reiterated this Wednesday that the Venezuelan State will comply with the decisión to rule the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) on the pronouncement of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (corteIHR) in the case of Leopoldo Lopez who was disqualified for committing administrative corruption during his management as mayor of Chacao in 2006.
Escarrá explained, "is an organ of the Venezuelan
judiciary tell us who we met or not met (the pronouncement of the Commission).
We abide by what the Supreme Court says. "
He reported that the Attorney prepare a legal document to be
submitted to Supreme Court highest court immediately rule on the case, for what
is expected formal notification in this instance the Venezuelan State.
Escarrá said, Lopez
was not their political rights have been violated, because he has been able to
exercise the right to vote, participated in political activities, has
established political organizations. "The only thing is them can not
exercise their functions" and there fore can not run for elected office,
he said.
